Before You Call A Remodeling Contractor!

You should know the scope of work you would like done. This means knowing what kind of Kitchen, Bathroom, or any other remodel you want before you undertake said remodel. Even if you only know what you don't like, that's better than having no idea at all. There is only so much a remodeling contractor can offer in the way of options.

If you want a Bathroom Remodeled know what kind of materials you would like (for the most part). You shouldn't really ask for an estimate or quote on the different prices between fiberglass shower surrounds and then ceramic tiles for the shower. If you don't know what kind of shower you want how is the contractor going to know? The difference is like night and day between the two. Tile is going to be more expensive every time. But if that's the look your going for then you should already know that ahead of time. Also there are hundreds of shower surrounds & tiles out there on the market today. Have an idea narrowed down before calling a contractor.

The same goes for Kitchen Cabinets & Countertops. You should know if you want a light or dark colored wood for the cabinet. Also the material you would like for the countertop is very important. Laminate, Solid Surface, Granite, and others differ in price greatly. If you know these things your contractor will be able to help you pick the best cabinets and countertops for your taste and budget respectively. Have an idea for the face of the cabinet, there are hundreds of different designs to choose from. Knowing what you like and don't like will make the process alot easier for both parties. This goes for the surface of your countertops as well. Know what you like and don't like for a cooking and or prepping surface. Your contractor will be able to tell you specifics as far as warranties, durability, and practicality. But ultimately it is your decision.

With a little research you'll be on your way to the smoothest Kitchen and or Bathroom remodel you could imagine.
